24-7 YouthWork

24-7 YouthWork

We want young people to thrive.

This is essentially why 24-7 YouthWork exists. We believe the old adage: it takes a village to raise a child. In light of this, 24-7 YouthWork enables healthy relationships between the local school and the local church, in the context of the wider community.

We all know the teenage years are full of challenges and school is the place where young people congregate. However, schools simply don’t have the resources or the time to focus on every aspect of a young person’s well-being. Recognising this need, 24-7 YouthWork focuses on our common goal; we provide positive role models to walk alongside young people and help them succeed.

24-7 YouthWork has been operating throughout New Zealand for over 20 years. This home-grown, Kiwi initiative has been ratified by independent research, highlighting its effectiveness in supporting young people through their teenage years. Present in nearly every region in Aotearoa, 24-7 YouthWork has established a trusted brand of youth work.

E Tū Tāngata encourages cohesion

24-7YW has been present in New Zealand schools for over 20 years and we know young people struggle with the way they think about (and talk about) themselves and others. We want to change this and encourage each young person to understand their worth, regardless of their behaviour or circumstances.

24-7YW aims to work alongside schools to implement the key values of E Tū Tāngata. We want our rangatahi to know they have value, they can succeed together and that others matter.

This will be achieved through a staged approach starting with a small pilot to ensure the effectiveness of the programme, followed by resources being released to all 24-7YW participating schools and finally a full release to all schools throughout New Zealand.
